Yep off the three of us went again, this time to Selby Canine Society 30th Anniversary Open Show, well what a day for "Arthur", a great turn out for Springers, The judge was Mrs J Sheppard (Cliffhill), Arthur was placed 1st in open then to my surprise and excitement Arthur was awarded BOB !!! . A huge thank you to Mrs Sheppard.
Selby wasn't judged on the group system, so we entered the ring along with all the other BOB winners, it was a change of judge for BIS Mr A Curry (Ladore) took the place of Mr Simpsom (Penang). I was thrilled to be shortlisted and then to be awarded BIS !!!!! Again a huge thank you, this time to Mr Curry.

Well what a start to our weekend, off we went (Arthur, Jacob and I) to Rossendale Valley Canine Society open show, Not many Springers, but Arthur managed 1st in open, then BOB, and finally Gundog Group 3!!, thankyou to the judges for their kind comments.
It's 5.15 am saturday morning and Arthur, Jacob and I set off for "Birmingham National Dog Show at Stafford, according to the Sat Nav an hour and a half for the journey, we arrived just after 6.30 am!!! (well call us keen), our judge for the day was Frank Kane and judging started at 9 am.
Arthur was entered into "Graduate Dog" , I never know how Arthur will behave, (I pray he's well behaved) but he moved well and was awarded a 2nd place, for which I was really pleased.
Next was "Harvey" Arthur's dad, he was placed 2nd in "Open Dog" and then to my delight and Jane's Harvey was called back into and was awarded the RDCC!! WELL DONE HARVEY.
We arrived home about 4.15pm, tired but pleased, and back to reality!!!!
It's Saturday 22nd May 2010, and Arthur, Jacob , and I collect our friend Ann of Ultimutt Dog Grooming are off to Scotland to The Scottish Kennel Club Champ Show, Our judge is Mr J Horswell (Drakesleat). It's Arthur's first time in "Limit" and to say I am abit nervous is an understatement, but Arthur took it all in his stride and delighted me when he was placed first!!!! WOW , he then had to take his place in the challenge, it wasnt to be his day, but by being placed first in limit it means he will be awarded a stud book number which also means he has qualified for "CRUFTS" for life!!!!!. Many thanks to the judge for placing Arthur first and his kind comments.
We arrived home about 6.30pm, happy, hot and exhausted. What a day for Arthur!!!.

To finish the weekend off, the three of us went to Northwest Canine Association Red Rose Special Charity Open Show with our special friend Ann of ULTIMUTT Dog Grooming and "Dora" the Standard Poodle. Arthur was placed 2nd in open, and also 2nd in the open stakes, I think Arthur had had enough of being well behaved, But I must be the proudest owner in the counrty, thank you again to the judges for their kind comments.
"Dora" won her class and then went BOB (Standard Poodles), well done to Ann and Dora.
May Bank Holiday and Arthur, Jacob and I set of to Chester City & County Canine Society Open Show, we arrived to discover a change of judge, our judge now is Mrs Cass, Not a great show of Springers, but Arthur was placed 1st in open, the awarded BOB !!!!. We went into the group along with the other BOB winners, Mrs Cass was judging the group and to my delight and surprise awarded Arthur Gundog Group 1 !!!! Thank you to Mrs Cass for her lovely comments about Arthur.
We then waited for BIS, Mrs Reeves was the judge, and again to my delight and surprise awarded Arthur RBIS !!!!!, what a great end to a lovely day, again thank you to Mrs Reeves for her lovely comments about Arthur.
It's friday morning about 4.30am, and Arthur, Jacob and I set of to collect our friend Ann of "ULTIMUTT" Dog Grooming and head for Southern Counties Champ Show, Arthur was only entered into one class "Limit Dog", which had the largest entry. To say it was hot was an understatement, but Arthur coped well with the heat and didnt seem at all bothered. Our judge for the day was Carole Coode, I was delighted when she placed Arthur 4th. We didnt stay for the day, but arrived home, very hot, happy and tired.
Today is the The Northern English Springer Spaniel Society Champ Show, so Arthur, Jacob and I set off, the weather is a bit miserable but the thought of the lovely food when we arrive cheers us up, It wasnt to be our day, Arthur was unplaced in his class. I was kept busy with some handling duties, even in the rain!!!!
4am sunday morning and Arthur, Jacob and I set of to collect our Brilliant friend Ann or Ultimutt Dog Grooming and head for Border Union Champ Show in Kelso, our judge for the day is Mrs Barbara Ganarin, Arthur is entered into Limit (at the advice of Jane), I was really thrilled when Arthur was placed 3rd!!!. It was a big class with 11 entered, thanks so much to Mrs Ganarin for thinking enough of him to place him. What a really enjoyable day, we arrived home tired but happy.
Today is thursday, I'm a little stressed to say the least, "Boris" my Blue Roan Cocker is off to hospital (Rutland House Referals) to have his other cruciate ligament done, poor Boo he has been through the wars this year, but hopefully after today he will be on the mend. The house is so quiet without him, even Arthur is quiet!!!!!
Having waited all day to hear, just heard Boo is fine!!!! and should be home tomorrow!!!!! HOORAY.
Apologies, a couple of days info all rolled into one, Friday 25th June "Boris" came home, feeling very sorry for himself, but glad to report he is much better and goes back Monday 5th July to have his staples removed. Saturday 26th June Arthur, Jacob and I set of for Blackpool Champ Show, our judge today is Mr Bob Jackson, Arthur was in Limit, and was placed 4th in a large class, well pleased again. Then we went into the Special Beginners Stakes 86 entered, the judge was Mr Tom Mather, to my utter surprise we were placed 2nd!!!!
Monday 28th June Arthur and Dora the Standard Poodle went off to have their annual eye test done, both clear!! pleased about that.
4.30am Sunday morning and again Jacob, Arthur and I set off to collect Ann from "Ultimutt" Dog Grooming and head for The East of England Champ Show. Our judge for the day is breed specialist Ms Lyn Gregory (Arcadia), just Arthur entered, Jacob comes along for the company, we are in Limit dog (7 entries), Arthur moved well for me, and I was really pleased when he was placed 2nd!!. Thank you to Ms Gregory for thinking enough of Arthur to give him 2nd. We also entered the Special Beginner Stakes (89 entries) was thrilled to short listed to the last 10, but alas no further. We arrived home around 7.30pm, and back to reality for me!!!!!
We have had a hectic couple of weeks here, what with trying to sort things out for my mum and poor Boris ending up back in hospital courtesy of Arthur, who very kindly helped to take Boris's stiches from his operation, which ended in an infection. Boris is on the mend again!!!!
Today Arthur, Jacob, our friend Ann and myself headed off to Leeds Champ Show, our judge for today is Mrs Marion Morgan, Arthur was entered into Limit dog with a class entry of 9, I do get some lovely comments about Arthur, thank you, Arthur did me proud and was 2nd, the dog who was placed first in the class went onto get the RDCC, well done. Ann who as you all know is a Poodle fanatic purchased two large poodle figures, we didnt realise how big the boxes would be!!!! What fun getting us and everything packed up and home!! As usual we arrived home happy, very proud and tired, here's to the next outing.
