It's Sunday 14th March 2010 "Gundog" Day at "CRUFTS", Arthur, Jacob and I set out at 4.15 am to collect our amazing friend "Ann" of ULTIMUTT Dog Grooming, and head down to the NEC, arriving in plenty of time for judging which starts at 9am prompt, our judge for the day is Dr G Rogers,
Arthur is entered into two classes "Yearling Dog" and "Good Citizen Dog Scheme Dog" and Jacob into "Post Graduate Dog" and "Good Citizen Dog Scheme Dog" , Arthur was in first, and all present in his class (12) , He didnt put a foot wrong for me, even though he was the youngest in the class, to my utter delight and surprise Dr Rogers awarded Arthur "1st place" WOW , what an experience!!!!! Then again in his second class all present (12), and another "1st place" I couldnt ask for any more. Poor Jacob, not being quite right on the day was with drawn (there's always next year Jacob) .
"Harvey" (Trinitas Newky Brown of Meadowdale) Arthur's dad, was awarded 2nd place in Open Dog, then was called into challenge for the RDCC, which to my absolute delight he was awarded!!!! WHAT A DAY!!!! WELL DONE HARVEY. a lovely day for Jane and The Meadowdale Kennels.
Totally exhausted but thrilled, we arrived home about 8.30pm.
Well "Gundog Day at Crufts" has arrived, Arthur, Jacob and myself collect our great friend "Ann" of Ultimutt Dog Grooming and head for the NEC Birmingham, arriving in plenty of time, First off Arthur is in the final for "Pets as Therapy Showdog of the year" 15 dogs in total for the line up, and Arthur was first in, he moved like a dream, loving every minute of it, to my delight Arthur was selected as "RUNNER UP PETS AS THERAPY SHOWDOG OF THE YEAR 2010!!!!!",winning a huge rossette, lovely trophy and £125.00!!! what a great start to the day.
Then a mad rush to get back for our breed judging, our judge to day is Mrs Ann Corbett (Trimere), Arthur was in a very strong Limit class, he didnt put a foot wrong for me, but was unplaced. We then went into our "KC Good Citizen Dog Scheme " Class were again to my delight he was placed first!!! what a great day for Arthur!!! I am so proud of him.
A huge thank you to everyone for their lovely comments, and especially Ann for putting up with us and also Jane and Steve Eyeington for letting me have Arthur, I couldn't do it without your help and support.
Friday 11th March and we head back to the NEC Arthur and Jacob have been invited to attend the discover dogs stand representing The English Springer Spaniel", what a great time the boys had, being cuddled and fussed all day, they just loved it, and both were well behaved (always a plus). A long day, but a lovely day, talking English Springer Spaniel all day . . . .heaven, we arrived home about 6.30pm all talked out, Although Arthur and Jacob still had the need for more cuddles!!!!!,

Hooray!!!! It's Crufts again, And Arthur, Jacob and myself along with our best pal Ann head of to the NEC for "Gundog Day", Our judge today is Mrs Kay Woodward (Wadeson) and I must say a HUGE entry for the English Springer Spaniel. Arthur is in Open Dog (up with the big boys now) with 16 in the class, including 11 Champions, I was so thrilled with Arthur he moved well and tookeverything in his stride. We were unplaced but I couldnt have asked for any more from him. Unfortunatly poor Frances Jackson had an accident wilst in the ring and we wish her all the very best on a speedy recovery. Seamus was awarded BOB then went on to be awarded GROUP 3!!!!! A huge well done to Jacky and Dave. As ever I am so proud of Arthur,
Saturday and we head back to the NEC with our friend David and his working Springers Breeze and Summer to help man the Discover Dogs stand, we had a great day talking ESS'S and about our dogs all day!!!! Arthur was asked to do a ringcraft demonstration (eek) along with some other breeds and to my delight was runner up due to getting the second loudest cheer from the crowd!!! Thank you, so we arrived back home about 8pm totally exhausted but with great memories of the weekend!!!!! Here's to next year!!!!!
I can't believe a whole year has gone by and here we are again off to Crufts, thursday David, Breeze, Arthur, Jacob and myself head off to help out at discover dogs, we just love it, talking about our favourite subject all day dogs and ESS'S!!!
Saturday 3.45am Arthur, Jacob and myself head back to Crufts for gunddog day, a huge entry of nearly 200 ESS'S, in for a long day. Arthur is in Open dog along with 16 others, to my delight Arthur was short listed down to the last 7!!!! a great start, next we are in the KCGCDS Class and Arthur was placed 2nd behind Meadowdale Chaos who went on to get the RDCC!!!! Well done to Jane and Chaos. Ralph's mum Sh Ch Melverly Sublimity won her open class then went on to be awarded the BCC!!!!!! Well done to Ray and Charlie!!!!!!!
A long tiring day, but well worth it, great company some good laughs, and plenty of shopping opertunities, what more can you ask for, off now for a lie down . . . . . here's to next year!!!!!!!!
Where does the time go?? Crufts again, this time we were there just Sunday "Gundog Day", a fab entry for our judge Breed Specialist Ms Fran Glendinning (Plaiglen), After finally getting set up, Ralph was in first Yearling dog, and at just 19 months old was one of the youngest, 17 in the class and Ralph the little star was placed 4th, WOW his first time at Crufts and a place, big smiles all round for me. Arthur was in next in the "good citizen dog class" and was placed 3rd, another big smile, my boys never let me down, i'm so so proud of them, must say a huge well done to Jane for making Chaos up on the day, a brilliant all round i think,
I did struggle health wise, but managed it home and spent yesterday recovering, well thats it for another year, boo hiss, i just love it, well must get saving, it was lovely to spend the talking to people, meeting up with friends, and putting faces to names, brill day, must just also say thankyou for the lovely comments about the boys, as always i'm so proud of them all.
And so it's that time of the year again, CRUFTS 2015, well I have to say it was one of the best I have been to, thanks to my travelling buddies Kath Holt and Ray Smith, we did do some laughing. Leaving the house at 4am,
Gundog day was thursday and a busy one, Ralph caused quite a stir in his new "Onesie" Harlequin design, making all the main tabloids the next day, what a laugh.
Our judge this year was Mr Frank kane, and what an entry he drew, both boys were in the big boy classes and did me proud as they always do. Ralph came 2nd in a huge Post Grad Dog Class to a lovely dog, and Arthur was shortlisted down to the last 6 in an brilliant Open Dog class full of Show Champions.
A very long and tiring day, but a lovely one, it was fab to meet up with people both old and new, and some that you have only chatted too via email.
We finalyy arrived home at 11.50pm, exhausted but very happy and very proud of my boys.
Well Crufts 2016 has been, and what a great time we had, just Ralph entered this year, and he was a super star, he was so well behaved but didn't like shopping. Ralph won a lovely class The KC Good Citizen dog Class, we left the house at 4am on the Friday to collect our friend Jill, it was lovely to spend some time catching up on things there , we were alot quieter coming home,
Had some super comments about Ralph, thank you, we arrived back home bout 8.30pm, exhausted but very happy and very proud of Ralph.
